This abstract work’s key elements are pattern and texture. It is designed to vary under different light conditions and how light interacts with the subtle surface of the work. It has a strong focal point which contrasts with the monotone background. The metallic lustre of the graphite powder and the different direction of the patterned squares also aids in the refraction of light. The bottom row of squares are larger to add contrast to the rest of the work.
